The result of the 2019 event left its immediate successor open to much interpretation.

A long-shot commanding moneyline prices of up to +6500, Country House (ridden by Flavien Prat) was awarded the win after the first horse to cross the line, Maximum Security, was adjudged to have cost War of Will and Long Range Todd a better placing, and subsequently disqualified.
